Stainless Steel 904L Seamless Pipes & Tubes is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. Stainless Steel 904L Pipes from Venus Special Metals is a low carbon high alloy austenitic stainless steel which is widely used in applications where the corrosion properties of Stainless Steel 316L and Stainless Steel 317L are not adequate. Stainless Steel 904L Tubes is added with copper to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, like sulphuric acid. SS 904L Pipes from Venus Special Metals is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion.

SS 904L Tubes is non-magnetic, and offers excellent toughness, weldability and formability. Alloy 904L Pipes from Venus Special Metals contains high amounts of expensive ingredients, such as nickel and molybdenum. The addition of copper to Alloy 904L Tubes (UNS NO8904) gives it corrosion resistant properties superior to the conventional chrome nickel alloys, in particular to phosphoric, acetic and sulphuric acids.

The austenitic structure also gives these Grade 904L Pipes with an excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures. Grade 904L Tubes from Venus Special Metals was originally developed to withstand environments containing dilute sulphuric acid. AISI 904L Pipes also provides excellent resistance to other related inorganic acids like hot phosphoric acid in addition to most organic acids.
