SS 321 Tubes was developed for use in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 1800 Degree F – 1500 Degree F (427 Degree C – 816 Degree C) where un-stabilized alloys such as SS 304 are subject to intergranular attack. Alloy 321 Pipes from Venus Special Metals is similar to Alloy 304 but with a titanium addition of at least five times the carbon content. This titanium addition in Alloy 321 Tubes reduces or prevents carbide precipitation during welding and in the 800 Degree F – 1500 Degree F service conditions.
