Monel, any of a group of nickel – copper alloys, contains about 66 percent nickel and 31.5 percent copper, with small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon.

Monel 400 Plates offered by Venus Special Metals are specifically nickel – base alloys that contain between 29 and 33 percent copper, where nickel and copper form a solid solution in all compositions. Stronger than pure nickel, Monel alloys are resistant to corrosion by many agents, including rapidly flowing seawater.

Monel 400 Coils can be fabricated readily by hot and cold working, machining, and welding. It has high strength and toughness over a wide temperature range and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Thus, these Alloy 400 Sheets offered by Venus Special Metals can only be hardened by further rolling, while showing excellent corrosion resistance, which is higher than that of pure nickel in reduced environments and better than that of copper in oxidizing environments.

It is used for marine engineering, chemical and hydrocarbon processing equipment, valves, pumps, shafts, fittings, fasteners, and heat exchangers. Alloy 400 Plates is also used as part of metal instruments and frames of eyeglasses. It has excellent mechanical properties at sub – zero temperatures.
